A Family Baking Tradition Since 1976 Celebrating 50 years!
Our journey began in 1976 when five Battaglia brothers and their father followed their passion for baking by purchasing their first neighborhood bakery in the Bronx, New York. In those early days, we did it all ourselves—mixing, shaping, baking, packing, and delivering every loaf by hand. Through hard work, determination, and a commitment to quality, our family business quickly grew.
With an eye toward expansion, our brother Sal helped lead the next chapter of our story. After acquiring a second bakery in the Bronx, we purchased Rockland Bakery in 1986 which was a beloved neighborhood bakery that had been serving Rockland County for more than 85 years. Together, we combined generations of baking knowledge, business experience, and family values to transform Rockland Bakery into one of the premier wholesale bakeries in the Northeast.
While we’ve grown tremendously over the years, our commitment has never changed. We remain dedicated to producing the highest quality baked goods while providing outstanding customer service. The loyalty of our customers and our continued growth are a true testament to that commitment.
From one bakery and one delivery truck, Rockland Bakery has grown into five baking facilities throughout New York and New Jersey, a fleet of more than 100 delivery vehicles, and over 200 daily delivery routes. Our eight distribution centers serve customers across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Today, we proudly supply fresh baked goods to restaurants, cafés, food service providers, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, hospitals, corporate dining programs, sporting arenas, hotels, and retail locations throughout the region.
Rockland Bakery is a trusted partner of leading food service management companies including Aramark, Compass Group, and Sodexo. Our products are also enjoyed at some of the region’s most iconic venues, including Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, MetLife Stadium, West Point Academy, and Rutgers University
In 2010, we acquired Sabrett Baking, a nationally recognized name in premium buns and rolls, further strengthening our ability to serve customers with an unmatched variety of fresh baked goods. Today, our products have gained recognition well beyond the Northeast. Rockland Bakery has been featured by ABC 7 New York, local publications, and internationally through platforms such as Tastemade and Insider Food. Every day, we produce hundreds of bakery items—from our famous Kaiser rolls, club rolls, hamburger and hot dog buns, sliced breads, and bagels to an extensive selection of pastries, cakes, cookies, and specialty desserts.
Today, our products have gained recognition well beyond the Northeast.
